Back Wheel Turns by Itself; Help!

Postby fender » Wed 14 Nov 2007, 00:33

I took my Camino out on its first ride on Sunday.

Unfortuantely I came off and did some damage. Now, up on its stand, I can see the back wheel turns on its own even though the throttle seems to be in its off position! This is lethal.

Any idea what is wrong?

My guess is, I may need a new throttle spring or cable?

Thanks.

I would try another cable first. But are the revs too high?

maybe the throttle got a bit banged in the accident and just doesnt return to its completely shut position now. see if you can losen the throttle stop screw on the carburetor a bit

I had the same problem, first check your idle screw. It could just be too far in. Easy fix. If not your freewheel is messed up. Take off the chain and see if the rear chain sprocket spins. If you twirl it it should make a few rotations. If not you need to replace it. If you don't pretty soon your pedals will be turing on... oh yeah, I forgot, you guys take off your pedals. If I did that the people I ride with would make fun of me.

Hey Noogie, it's Travis from MopedArmy.com. Did you get my e-mail?
